My answers to the questions

music: NICO touches the Walls - Broken Youth
1. Have you ever had someone from your own country do something bad to you? For example, they invite you to replace someone, and when you get there, they just disband. Do you hold a grudge against the person who invited you in that case, or do you think “Oh well,” and just forget about it?
Yes, I can hold a grudge, but only for really terrible and really annoying players. About replacement invites; I disregard them at all costs. Far too often they disband when I get there or soon after. I also refrain from replacing players when I'm the party leader, because I know how it feels to be dragged out to a camp and disbanding. I also avoid hardcore HNMLS playes, because they have to go to HMM camps 30 minutes into the party. I would rather just disband parties.
2. I heard that on foreign boards there is a list of useful Japanese players that will help people out. Do you really have such a list?
I haven't seen such a list, but once in a while people make threads on forums just to praise their circle of friends.
3. I don’t go out of my way to invite NA players to my party, but NA players often invite Japanese players. What are the benefits and drawbacks of inviting a Japanese player to your party?
I don't really go out of my way to invite a JP player. It will just depend on who is seeking at the time. When inviting a JP player the drawback is the language barrier, but it is a minor one. The auto-translation function is good enough and sometimes the JP players can speak English pretty well. The benefits are... you can ask the JP party member to ask other JP players to join your party, because they declined your English invite. Bottom line is I'd rather have a skillful player in my party. Doesn't matter if they're JP or NA.
4. Has there been a time when a Japanese player has hurt or insulted you? Also, what are some actions that are normal for us that you find disagreeable? I’m interested to know and would like to hear your thoughts.
I'm insulted when I see "jp only" and "english no thanks" in search comments. I've never been insulted by a JP player during parties or anything like that.
5. Lots of NA players exclusively use Auto-Translate when recruiting for Assault and other activities. Does this mean that you are targeting Japanese players as well? I’m fairly knowledgeable when it comes to Missions and Assault, but I barely know any English, and worry if I should even send a tell.
Hell yeah, I'll take anyone. I just want to get whatever I'm doing done. One time, there was a JP shout for a WSNM that I needed. He used the auto-translate in his shout, but when I replied in English he removed the auto-translate parts and ignored me :( Wait... add that to the insults.
6. I’ve had a foreign player say to me, “I hate Japanese people.” But Final Fantasy is a Japanese game. If you hate us, why play?
/sigh [I don't know.]... I just [I don't know.]...
7. A lot of time has passed since service began in Japan, and you barely see any new subscribers coming in. Are there new NA players still joining?
Seems like very few NA are joining also. I do get quite a few noob questions and comments from people saying they are reactivating on my youtube video, so people are still slowly joining. I hate when people say they're canceling their accounts, because they can't beat Pandemonium Warden. Really? You can't find something else to do in the WHOLE game? Same thing happened when people couldn't beat Absolute Virtue. Then a big-name LS cried and went to World of Warcraft. The end.
8. In Japan, players that play long periods of time, have many Lvl 75 jobs, possess tons of high-level equipment, and who are usually filled with prejudice and contempt are called 廃人 <[ ( hai jin ) " High Level person but disable from living real life " ]>. Is there a similar name you use for NA players who are like that?
I was called a haijin once by a JP friend. i took it as a compliment. We call these types of players people with no lives. Please do not insult people by saying they have no life, because really we're all playing this damn game and have no life. But I take it to the next level!
9. Is there opposition against the practice of RMT or the use of third party tools? What do you do if your friend or Linkshell uses them? How do you feel about RMT業者 (gyou sha) or gil farmers?
There was once a list that was forever lost in time... I hate people that use tools to cheat, gil farmers, and people that buy accounts, because they got banned. I was once in Dreamers. We were sea farming and a few players were using the pos hack to get around. I reported them and the GM didn't do shit at the time, but a few of them were caught later using hacks.
10. In Japan, there are some people who are huge subligar fans. Are there any amongst foreign players, or is there another piece of equipment that is especially popular?
My friend saw me playing this game when I was wearing the bronze subligar set. He said I looked gay. I think they should of made subligar female only. Sometimes I would wear subligar to joke around, but I feel embarrassed when wearing it any other time.

Nice. I'm finally done with meriting BST. For group one merits, I got level 5 killer effects and level 5 call beast recast. With tatami shield, flawless ribbon, beast trousers, and these merits, intimidate should kick a tiny bit more. I'm not expecting a lot, though. It's funny that I chose to go with call beast recast, because I barely ever used it when I leveled. The few times that I did BCNMs with BSTs, they were always worried about their call beast timers so that's why I went with it. For group 2 merits, I got level 3 feral howl and level 3 beast affinity. Feral howl is suppose to terrorize the mob. Sometimes. Beast affinity raises the level of called beasts so hopefully my CourrierCarrie will be stronger!
Now that I'm done meriting I've decided to level NIN next. Again, it's gonna be mostly through campaign, besieged, and EXP scrolls. And maybe sky farming! Damn I'm too poor to buy ninja tools. Yesterday in limbus, we had 2 temenos NIN items drop. Damn how? That is the most uncommon one for us. I got one of them so now I'm set for an AF+1 piece. Hmm, what to choose, what to choose. Gotta make a wise decision since the temenos item is so rare for us.
I got my SCH to 37. Now my subjobs are up to par again. I went BLM/SCH to our last Proto-Omega and all I know is I had MP for an extra nuke or two before I manafonted. The new JA, sublimation, is pretty cool. Use it once, and your HP starts to slowly tick down while MP is being stored. It keeps ticking until you get orange HP or the max amount of MP is reached. You can't rest with it on, unless you got stoneskin. Hit that JA again and you get that stored MP. Nice.
Damn. Why Sandworm gotta block the campaign C.A.? Good thing I have spectral jig, because it detects by sound. I like using PLD/DNC for campaign and solo situations. You can basically solo a mob and not worry about dying. If you run out of MP you can turn to your TP for cures. I like to pull a mob or two away so the campaign NPCs don't rape them and it prolongs the battle for maximum EXP!
I got that for a three-waver at Fort K-N. I also did all the new WotG quests. SE is getting pretty good at directing cutscenes. I give Windy the best cutscenes, then Sandy, then Bastok. I solo'd all the fights as PLD/DNC. I also changed from Bastok to Sandy to get the new allied note items that are goodl for PLD. 80,000 AN down, but still got 370,000 to spare. Changing to a new nation is easy. Just gotta talk to a guy and do the initiating quest. But if you want to change back, it costs 300 AN and your 2 highest medals. Damn.
Damn. Finally. This is why I'm poor. Because I chose cooking. Now I'm working on getting guild points for the culinary sign.
Gonna close this post with screenshots from the new quests. See you again!

75 BST get!

music: Underworld - To Heal

Hit 75 BST on Friday. It was a job I dreaded leveling, but with the addition of campaign it has been much easier and less boring getting EXP. At 72 and up, I started doing birds vs dolls and pots up in sky. Pots were easy to take down, but the dolls didn't self-destruct as much as I'd like.
I also unlocked ground strike and spiral hell. Thanks to Anauel who went up to Boyahda and did light skillchains with me to break the latent on great sword. The ground strike NM was easy. It's a tiger with pretty much 100% accuracy, so I went as PLD/DNC and had a Chewy on RDM and Ipsen on WHM backing me up. I think the damage from bio II and poison II did more than my sword.
I broke my scythe's latent with Ipsen and my adventuring fellow. WAR has no good scythe weapon skills so the best we could do was fragmentation or distortion, and it was impossible to know what WS my NPC was gonna use. SE should give us an option to set WSs for our NPCs. It took all four charges of my tactics pearl to get rid of the latent. Check out Yoli's tachi: gekko damage:

Pretty good for an NPC. Great katana FTW! Anything else and they'll probably kill themselves with an AoE WS.
I went as THF for the WSNM. The fight was a bit harder than the ground strike NM, because Den of Rancor sucks, there are aggroing mobs everywhere, and the NM is a hecteyes so it casts a lot of nasty magic and did annoying moves. It took me four tries to beat him, but I did it. I DID IT!

mood:
tired
music: Adam Freeland - Mind Killer (Rez Mix)

Nice. My limbus group did Proto-Omega tonight. He was in a giving mood and gave us another three piece drop. The exact same drops as our last Omega run. Head went to Frysia, body to Hazou, and legs to me. Hazou and I are 5/5 homam now. Thanks guys I'm joy.
SJ did three Kirins tonight and on two of those kills w.legs dropped. We've been having some pretty bad luck with those. That puts us at a total of three w.legs out of the many Kirins we have done. Hope we fight Genbu soon, or else Zera's gonna go try and solo him! I don't see a bright future in that. He's been dying for Genbu's shield.

I've decided to level BST to 75 next. I just got 71 today. All I can say is, thank SE for campaign. That's where I've been getting most of my BST XP. I also duo with Ipsen's WHM, which is currently 67. I only XP for the duration of an empress band or else I'll get too bored. I can't really stand grinding on BST. Other sources of XP are XP scrolls and doing campaign ops on my BST. Besieged is reserved for skilling up my great sword until I get it high enough to unlock ground strike. Can't talk besieged now. See you again!

I am fine. Hope everyone had a wonderful new years. Had a nice Proto-Omega fight tonight. We were lucky and got a three piece drop! I got body, Hazou got legs, and head went to Myrna. I'm joy.

Also, last Thursday I got one of these:
I never had one while leveling SAM. Did a run with SJ and we went 5/7 on drops. It's a nice little toy to have. Lately, I've been trying to finish up SAM merits through campaign. So far, I've gotten level 5 store TP effect and meditate recast, and I'm currently working on getting the last level of overwhelm. I guess I'll get shikikoyo to level 3, even though I'm not too crazy about it. I don't think it's worth sharing my TP, except for outside of BCs.

That's all folks.
